I Tested Renault Megane E-tech 2025’s CarPlay & Android Auto and Here’s What I Found!

In this video, I show you how to connect your iPhone or Android phone to the Renault Megane E-tech Model Year 2025 infotainment system for wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto.

How to connect Wired Apple CarPlay to Renault Megane E-tech

  1. Locate the CarPlay USB-C ports on the front of the centre armrest. The USB port to use is usually the one nearest to the driver’s side.
  2. Connect your iPhone USB-C to USB-C or Lightning to USB-C cable to this USB-C port and the other end into your iPhone.
  3. Wait a few seconds and a prompt asking “Do you want to connect to Apple CarPlay?” will display. Tap the [Yes] button on this prompt. You may also be asked to unlock your iPhone to start CarPlay.
  4. Once unlocking your iPhone you should see Apple CarPlay appear on the main display.
  5. Tap the Renault app icon on the CarPlay home screen or the side home button on the driver side of the display to exit Apple CarPlay, and back to the car’s main system screen.
  6. Tapping the CarPlay options on the top navigation of the main screen will take you back to Apple CarPlay.

How to connect Wireless Apple CarPlay to Renault Megane E-tech

  1. Enter the phone section of the car system by pressing the phone option on the top navigation of the main display.
  2. Make sure both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are active and discoverable on your iPhone and go into the Bluetooth settings area on your iPhone.
  3. Tap the [Connect to Bluetooth] option on the main display’s Phone home screen.
  4. Tap [Pair new device] option on the following screen.
  5. After searching for new devices, your iPhone should display on the discovered devices list of Available devices. Tap it to connect the phone to the car display.

    If your phone doesn’t show, go into the iPhone Bluetooth settings and look for the vehicles Bluetooth ID, this is mentioned at the top of the Pair new device screen under Vehicle name.
  6. Select [Pair] on the iPhone screen, followed by the [Pair] prompt on the car screen. A passkey will display on both the iPhone and the car display. Confirm both codes should be the same.
  7. It may ask to “Allow Contacts and Favourites Sync?” on your iPhone. This is asking if you wish to share your phone’s contacts with the car. Pressing [Allow] is recommended and it makes it easier to make calls directly from the car display.
  8. On the car display, a prompt will display to “Use contact names to improve calling and texting”. Select the [Continue] button if you wish to do so.
  9. Wireless CarPlay will now connect with the car system display.

    If you don’t see wireless CarPlay display. Go to the [App] section on the top navigation of the main display and select [Apple CarPlay], and next to your detected phone tap on the CarPlay option to enable it. In a few seconds, Apple CarPlay will display on your main screen, wirelessly.

How to connect Wired Android Auto to Renault Megane E-tech

  1. Locate the USB-C ports on the front of the centre armrest. The USB port to use is usually the one nearest to the driver’s side.
  2. Download Android Auto from the Google Play store if it isn’t already installed on your phone. You can check this by going into Settings on your Android phone, going to search in settings and entering the word “Auto”. If the option for Android Auto appears you have it installed.
  3. Connect your Android USB-C to USB-C cable to the left USB-C port and the other end into your Android.
  4. In a few seconds, you should see “Start Android Auto on Samsung_Android?” or a similar message, displayed on the main display. Tap [Start Android Auto] to proceed. You may need to unlock your Android phone if it isn’t already unlocked.
  5. Tap the Renault app icon on the App screen to exit Android Auto, and return back to the car’s main system screen.
  6. Tapping the Android Auto option on the top navigation of the main screen will take you back to Android Auto.

How to connect Wireless Android Auto to Renault Megane E-tech

  1. Download Android Auto from the Google Play store if it isn’t already installed on your phone. You can check this by going into Settings on your Android phone, going to search in settings and entering the word “Auto”. If the option for Android Auto appears you have it installed.
  2. Follow the above procedure to easily connect your Android wired first, then remove the cable and on doing so a popup at the top of the main display will ask to “Restart Android Auto?”. Tap this popup bar and your Android will reconnect using wireless Android Auto.
  3. To connect wirelessly directly without doing the above step. Enter the phone section of the car system by pressing the phone option on the top navigation of the main display.
  4. Make sure both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are active and discoverable on your Android and go into the Bluetooth settings area on your Android.
  5. Tap the [Connect to Bluetooth] option on the main display’s Phone home screen.
  6. Tap [Pair new device] option on the following screen.
  7. After searching for new devices, your Android should display on the discovered devices list of Available devices. Tap it to connect the phone to the car display.

    If your phone doesn’t show, go into the Android phone’s Bluetooth settings and look for the vehicle’s Bluetooth ID, this is mentioned at the top of the Pair new device screen under Vehicle name.
