Elago is one of the better-looking case designers for the iPhone, and in 2023 they have released a great line-up of cases for the iPhone 15 / Plus / Pro / Max that I have been lucky to sample in this video.
All of these cases come with MagSafe. They will allow passthrough charging and MagSafe mounting, which makes it ideal when mounting in a car interior via a MagSafe car charger.
I found the silicone material to be the kind of material that picks up fluff, dust and hair very easily once placed down on a surface or from inside a jeans pocket. If they used the material from the Armor case, it would be less prone to picking up all the dust and dirt that’s around us. This is sadly the common issue of silicone cases.
The Armor case carries some level of extra protection over their other offerings, but expect no Ottobox-like performance of ruggedness. Other than its corner protection, this case is more protective in its aesthetics than actual outdoor ruggedness. There are some alignment issues that might lead to dust and dirt collecting around the lenses, hopefully, a remoulding will fix these issues, so waiting a little before ordering this case would be my advice.
The Hybrid clear case is a great way to show off the colour option you have chosen, and its overall bulk isn’t too obtrusive. The case comes with film on both sizes, to give your iPhone a proper clean before removing both films to get a dust-free install.
The Glide case with its two-tone design looks classy, but sadly its build quality could have been better. Its camera bump rim sank into one corner, and the partition on the back can easily be moved to allow dust and dirt to collect inside the join. I wasn’t a fan of its clear buttons on the purple version, which made it look a little cheaper. With also poor MagSafe performance, personally, the other cases looked and performed better.
The clear Hybrid and Silicone cases were the best out of the 7 cases I tested, however, the silicone case material required regular de-fluffing, and with that, I ended up with the Hybrid clear case for my top iPhone 15 Pro case of choice from Elago.
