iPhone 13 Mini
Elago is one of the better-looking case designers for the iPhone, and in 2021 they have released a great line-up of cases for the iPhone 13 / Pro / Mini / Max that I have been lucky to sample in this video.
Other than the MagSafe specific silicone case, all of these cases do not come with MagSafe. They will charge wirelessly, but they will not work well with MagSafe accessories, so beware if you plan on using these case with a MagSafe charger on the desk or in the car, if the iPhone is suspended in any way, and that it would rely on MagSafe to keep it held and attached.
I found the silicone material in both standard and MagSafe to be that kind that picks up fluff, dust and hair very easily once placed down on a surface or from inside a jeans pocket. If they used the material from the Armor case, it would be less prone to picking up all the dust and dirt that’s around us.
The Armor case has some level of extra protection over their other offerings, but expect no Ottobox-like performance of ruggedness. Other than its corner protection, this case is more protective in its aesthetics than actual outdoor ruggedness. The ridged backing, although adds to feel and grip, isn’t going to stay clean with any use of your iPhone outdoors.
Both Clear cases, Hybrid and Urban, are made from a nice and medium weight of clear silicone. Not too thin, and not too thick. Just right, for everyday protection if your iPhone 13. I found the Urban to feel a lot nicer, and its rear lined backing texture to feel and look unique, whilst its curved edges makes it super comfortable to hold without the harsh edges carried through from the iPhone 13 design.
The Glide case has a unique two-tone design that looks classy and the build quality also looks top notch. Although I had a small issue with the bottom plate sliding off, it was fixable and it didn’t look like it was going to come off again anytime soon. The bottom is more plastic and will help with drop protection in this area, whilst also giving your iPhone a unique look over some more bland cases out there.
And finally, the Pebble. My up-most favourite case so far for the iPhone 13 Pro. From its looks to its function, this case looks and feels amazing. Its rough pebble texture really adds a decent level of grip to the phone, whilst also not being so rough that it feels like you have a brick in your pocket. It isn’t a dirt or dust magnet, and the front side edges and camera bump give a decent level of protection to the screen and camera lenses. If only it has MagSafe! What a frustrating omission to this stellar case.
