In this video (and step guide below), I show you how to connect your iPhone and Android device to the Cupra Born infotainment system for both wired and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

How to connect Wired Apple CarPlay / Android Auto to Cupra Born 2024
- Locate the two USB-C ports inside the centre storage compartment, near the wireless charging port or phone tray near your elbow.
- Connect your iPhone USB-C to USB-C or Lightning to USB-C cable to the left USB-C port in the Born and the other end into your iPhone.
- Wait a few seconds and a prompt to connect to your phone will appear.
- Tap the green Apple CarPlay button in this prompt to connect to your iPhone and start Apple CarPlay
- In about 5 seconds you should see Apple CarPlay appear on the main display. If you see a black screen, continue below.
- Tap the Car icon on the side dock of the display to come out of the black screen.
- Locate the green Apple CarPlay icon on the bottom icon bar and tap it to enter Apple CarPlay.
How to connect Wireless Apple CarPlay to Cupra Born 2024
- Follow the above procedure to easily connect your iPhone wired first, and then remove the cable and select your iPhone again that’s still present on the display to connect to your phone wirelessly and enable wireless Apple CarPlay.
- To connect wirelessly directly without doing the above step. First, tap the red Full Link button either in the bottom bar of icons or in the app overview screen.
- Make sure both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are active and discoverable
- On-screen there is an Other devices area which should detect your phone and display it as a selectable option.
- Tap your phone option to initiate the pairing process where you will be asked to verify the pairing code. Do this on both devices where applicable and give it up to around 15 seconds for it to connect to your phone wirelessly and then display CarPlay on the Born display.
How to connect Wired Android Auto to Cupra Born 2024
- Locate the two USB-C ports inside the centre storage compartment, near the wireless charging port or phone tray near your elbow.
- Download Android Auto from the Google Play store if it isn’t already installed on your phone. You can check this by going into Settings on your Android phone, going to search in settings and entering the word “Auto”. If the option for Android Auto appears you have it installed.
- Connect your Android USB-C to USB-C cable to the left USB-C port in the Born and the other end into your Android.
- Wait a few seconds and a prompt to connect to your phone will appear.
- Tap the blue Android Auto button in this prompt to connect to your Android and start Android Auto
- In about 5 seconds you should see Android Auto appear on the main display. If you see a black screen, continue below.
- Tap the Car icon on the side dock of the display to come out of the black screen.
- Locate the Android Auto icon on the bottom icon bar and tap it to enter Android Auto.
How to connect Wireless Android Auto to Cupra Born 2024
- Follow the above procedure to easily connect your Android wired first, and then remove the cable and select your Android again that’s still present on the display to connect to your phone wirelessly and enable wireless Android Auto.
