2024 Peugeot e-208 Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto Review

In this video, I will show you how to connect your iPhone to the Peugeot 208/e-208 GT infotainment system for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

How to connect Wired Apple CarPlay / Android Auto to 2024 Peugeot 208/e-208

  1. Locate the USB-C ports on each side of the lower centre console compartment. The USB port to use is usually the one nearest to the driver’s side.
  2. Connect your iPhone USB-C to USB-C or Lightning to USB-C cable to this USB-C port in the 208/e-208 and the other end into your iPhone.
  3. Wait a few seconds and a prompt to connect to your phone will appear or to unlock your iPhone to start CarPlay.
  4. Once unlocking your iPhone you should see Apple CarPlay appear on the main display.
  5. Tap the middle home button on the button shelf below the screen to exit Apple CarPlay on the 208/e-208.

How to connect Wireless Apple CarPlay to 2024 Peugeot 208/e-208

  1. Follow the above procedure to easily connect your iPhone wired first, and then in time you will get a prompt on your iPhone asking to “Use Wireless CarPlay with My Peugeot Mirror Screen”.
  2. Tap on the [Enable Wireless CarPlay], then remove the cable and select the [Connect Device] button that’s now showing on the car display.
  3. Select your iPhone again that displays under My Devices on the car display to connect to your phone wirelessly and enable wireless Apple CarPlay. You will know it is using wireless CarPlay because a battery symbol will now show on the side dock of CarPlay
  4. To connect wirelessly directly without doing the above step. Pull down from the top of the screen and on the right side you’ll see [My Devices] option, tap this button to continue. If this isn’t there, you can go to the Home Screen, and under Settings, you should also be able to get there.
  5. Make sure both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are active and discoverable on your iPhone and go in to the Bluetooth settings area on your iPhone.
  6. Now, look for a new Bluetooth profile to appear on your iPhone, it will likely be My Peugeot followed by a mix of 8 letters and numbers. Once it appears tap on it to start the Bluetooth pairing process.
  7. Select [Pair] on the iPhone screen, followed by the [OK] prompt on the car screen. A passkey will display on both the iPhone and on the car display. Confirm both prompts.
  8. It may ask to “Allow Contacts and Favourites Sync?” on your iPhone. This is asking if you wish to share your phone’s contacts with the car. Pressing [Allow] is recommended and it makes it easier to make calls directly from the car display.
  9. Your iPhone will next ask “Use CarPlay with Peugeot?” and when this shows select the [Use for CarPlay] button in the prompt.
  10. Select the [Apple CarPlay] button on the car home screen.
  11. Wireless CarPlay will now connect with the car system display.

How to connect Wired Android Auto to 2024 Peugeot 208/e-208

  1. Locate the USB-C ports on each side of the lower centre console compartment. The USB port to use is usually the one nearest to the driver’s side.
  2. Download Android Auto from the Google Play store if it isn’t already installed on your phone. You can check this by going into Settings on your Android phone, going to search in settings and entering the word “Auto”. If the option for Android Auto appears you have it installed.
  3. Connect your Android USB-C to USB-C cable to the left USB-C port and the other end into your Android.
  4. In a few seconds you should see Android Auto appear on the main display.
  5. If you don’t see Android Auto, pull down from the top of the car display and there may be an option on the main left side saying New Media Device detected, tap to switch. Tap this option to launch Android Auto. You can also go into [My Devices > Connectivity] on the right side button and look for your Android under the Known Devices section. Otherwise from the Home Screen, there is an Android Auto button that when tapped will connect to your Android and start Android Auto

How to connect Wireless Android Auto to 2024 Peugeot 208/e-208

  1. Follow the above procedure to easily connect your Android wired first, and then remove the cable and select your Android again that’s still present on the display to connect to your phone wirelessly and enable wireless Android Auto.
  2. Download Android Auto from the Google Play store if it isn’t already installed on your phone. You can check this by going into Settings on your Android phone, going to search in settings and entering the word “Auto”. If the option for Android Auto appears you have it installed.
  3. To connect wirelessly directly without doing the above step. Pull down from the top of the screen and on the right side you’ll see [My Devices] option, tap this button to continue. If this isn’t there, you can go to the Home Screen, and under Settings, you should also be able to get there.
  4. Make sure both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are active and discoverable on your Android and go into the Bluetooth settings area on your phone.
  5. Now, look for a new Bluetooth profile to appear on your Android, it will likely be My Peugeot followed by a mix of 8 numbers and letters. Once it appears tap on it to start the Bluetooth pairing process.
  6. A Pairing Code will be displayed on both the car display and on your Android phone. Tap [Confirm] on both of these screens.
  7. You Android will start to connect and a Phone Projection screen will show on the car display, tap [Start] to confirm the connection.
  8. You Android will also show a prompt for your car system to access your messages. Tap [Allow] to proceed.
  9. In a few seconds, your Android phone will connect to the car display for wireless Android Auto.
