Quntis 18W USB-C Fast iPhone Charger with 2m Cable Review

If you have the latest iPhone SE, X, XS, 11, 11 Pro or iPhone 8 your iPhone has the capability of charging super fast, thanks to the Power Delivery standard. Sadly though, only a handful of these devices come with a 1 Amp / 5 Watt charger, meaning you will never get the fastest charging speed that your latest iPhone is capable of.

To achieve great charging speeds, you will need a wall charger that features at least 3 Amps / 18 Watt charging. Apple’s own 18W charger will set you back $29.00, but you’ll also need a USB-C cable to fully optimise the charging power from this charger, meaning you have to pay an additional $19.99 on top for their 1m USB-C to Lightning cable or another $29.99 for a 2m-long cable.

Thankfully, though, we have the Made for iPhone (MFi) certified program, where a number of third-party makers can offer much cheaper alternatives to Apple’s own accessories. The Quntis 18 Fast iPhone Charger is one such MFi charger that gives you the same charging performance, but at half the cost, when you factor in a USB-C to Lightning cable that you will also need.

In the box comes the charger itself, available in either black or white, and a 2 meter long USB-C to Lightning cable of matching colour, which contains an authorization chip issued by Apple to ensure 100% compatibility with any of your Apple Lightning devices.

The charger itself comes in a fairly small package. It’s not as small and discreet as Apple’s own folding iPhone 11 Pro 18W wall charger, or the Anker 30W PowerPort Atom PD 1. Its narrow stature measures 6cm deep from the wall socket, 2.5cm wide and 4.2cm in height. Unlike the Apple 18W, the pins sadly do not fold away and its single USB-C port oddly sits vertically on the back face of the UK charger, although the US and EU versions orient the port the correct way.

The 18W PD charger also supports the Qualcomm Quick Charge 4.0 / 3.0 and 2.0 standard, so through its single USB-C port you can charge other devices, such as an iPads and other Quick Charge supported smartphones –  just as long as you have a compatible USB-C cable for these devices.

The bundled 2m (6ft) cable comes with a connected velcro strap to allow you to neatly stow the cable away. It has a USB-C connector on one end and Apple Lightning connector on the other. Its cable quality is decent, using a kink-free braided cable material and it supports USB 2.0 cable data transfer speeds of up to 480mbps.

Retailing for £20.99 from Amazon UK ($23.99 from Amazon US), the Quntis 18W Fast iPhone Charger is a decent fast charger replacement for your existing iPhone charger. Especially if your iPhone came with a stock 5W wall charger. The Quntis 18W fast charger is a time saver when it comes to charging your latest iPhone, charging its battery from 0% to 50% in just a little over 30 minutes, instead of around 1hr 40m with a 5W charger. Considering you get a free 2m Lighting cable bundled with the charger, the Quntis 18W Fast iPhone Charger offers considerable value if you wish to take advantage of your iPhone’s fastest charging speeds.
