After two weeks of daily use with Apple’s latest iPhone 17 Pro, I’ve had the chance to test two of Benks’ newest protective cases: the ArmorPro 660D and the ArmorPro Montage, both full body cases for the iPhone 17 Pro, designed with Kevlar fiber for premium strength and durability. I also installed the Benks’ GlassWarrior Sapphire Screen Protector to complete the setup. Here’s my experience with these accessories and which one I’d personally choose for the iPhone 17 Pro.
My First Two Weeks with the iPhone 17 Pro
Coming from the iPhone 17 Air, the upgrade to the Pro felt like the right move almost immediately. While the Air was lightweight and handled everyday use just fine, including its battery life, it simply didn’t fit into my workflow long-term. The iPhone 17 Pro, though noticeably heavier, delivers a more solid and refined experience. That extra weight feels justified the moment you start using its bright display, longer battery life, and USB 3.0 transfer speeds. Transferring over USB multi-gigabyte video files now takes just seconds — a massive improvement for content creators like me.
Battery life has been one of the biggest standouts so far. Even on heavy days of filming, editing, and general use, I’ve yet to see a low battery warning on this phone. Apple’s efficiency gains this year are genuinely noticeable. Its Thermal Chamber keeps the phone cool when it is under heavy load, and as a result, it doesn’t throttle the performance as quickly. The camera system, too, has been excellent. The telephoto lens isn’t something I use daily, but when I do — at events or concerts — it performs beautifully. For most of my shots, though, the standard and ultra-wide lens remains my go-to.
Design-wise, Apple continues to push refinement over reinvention. The two-tone rear glass feels nice, but I do hope Apple moves toward a cleaner-looking single-tone design next year. It was the reason why I opted for the blue finish. I am a big orange colour fan, but the blue looked less ‘patchy’ in its rear design. Plus, it pairs nicely with darker accessories — like the Benks cases I’ve been testing. Once a case is on, though, you rarely see that colour, which is where Benks comes in.
Benks ArmorPro 600D & Montage Case
The Benks ArmorPro stands out as the brand’s most protective all-body case. Built from 600D Kevlar fibre, it offers a full-body enclosure with no open edges, giving you complete coverage around the phone. The silky-smooth finish feels premium in hand, and its subtle Kevlar weave pattern catches the light beautifully.
It’s slightly bulkier than the minimalist ArmorAir version Benks offers, but that added thickness brings peace of mind. The chrome-finished buttons and a silver coloured bevelled camera ring give the ArmorPro a high-end look, while the MagSafe ring inside ensures compatibility with chargers and wallets.
The Montage case, on the other hand, shares the same Kevlar fibre construction but adds a more artistic twist to the rear panel. Its “montage” pattern gives it a textured design that sets it apart visually, though it may divide opinions. Like the ArmorPro, the Montage includes the same tactile metal buttons, a solid fit, and precise cutouts for ports and speakers.
Everyday Use and Protection
After several days of use, the ArmorPro case impressed me with its tactile feel and ease of grip. It resists fingerprints better than many glossy finishes and provides solid corner and camera bump protection. It feels like a case that could take a drop or two without worry.
The Montage case, while equally well-built, feels a little less refined. Its textured rear design might appeal to some users, but I found it slightly distracting compared to the cleaner ArmorPro aesthetic. For long-term comfort and simplicity, the ArmorPro wins for its understated design. It’s just a shame Benks didn’t release colour-matched versions of this year’s cases. Looking today, they only have closer matched colour tints in their ArmorAir cases, hopefully I will get my hands on these in the near future.
Screen Protection: Benks GlassWarrior Sapphire Protector
To complete the setup, I applied the GlassWarrior Sapphire Screen Protector. The installation kit includes everything needed for a dust-free application: wipes, a cleaning cloth, dust stickers, and a frame alignment tool. The sapphire coating adds an extra layer of scratch resistance while maintaining the iPhone’s clarity and touch sensitivity.
Once fitted with the ArmorPro, the protector sits flush with the raised case edges, offering 360° protection without adding bulk. Together, they make for a seamless and sturdy combination that looks and feels premium.
Verdict – The Best iPhone 17 Pro Case from Benks
The ArmorPro is well-priced for a case with such premium materials and build quality. The Montage costs a little more, but offers less reason to justify the difference unless you really love its unique rear design. The GlassWarrior adds even more protection, completing the premium setup, and is an accessory that you should also add to your checkout basket – Don’t forget my discount code CPL15
Between the two, I’d personally go for the Benks ArmorPro. It strikes the best balance of durability, style, and comfort. The Montage case looks interesting but feels more like a design statement than an everyday protective companion. Paired with the GlassWarrior screen protector, the ArmorPro delivers a solid, all-round premium feel that enhances the iPhone 17 Pro experience.
For anyone seeking high-end Kevlar protection with MagSafe support, Benks has delivered another impressive lineup. If you prefer something slimmer, keep an eye out for their upcoming ArmorAir models, which might offer the best of both worlds.
