Amoner Universal Travel Adapter with 3x USB-A and 1x USB-C ports Review

If you are a frequent traveller who regularly travels overseas, then making sure you have a sufficient travel adapter to power all your tech is just as important as how many pants and socks you have to pack.

With the UK and Europe being so close, and the fact that both carry completely different power sockets, making sure I pack a travel adapter of some kind is a very important item I always stow away in my travel case. The more tech I bring, the more chargers and adapters are required for them in order to keep them charged whilst I am away.

The Amoner International Travel Power Adapter comes in a travel-friendly size, all whilst packing a number of important features that help reduce the various bits of tech I actually have to bring along with me.

Packed inside the small size of 3 x 2.5 x 2.2 inches are the various power socket connections that will allow you to connect your existing power cables to sockets in the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Japan, Australia, China and most European countries.

Pressing and sliding forward one of the three sliders that are located on the sides of the adapter will bring out one of three power socket connection types. Once the slider has been fully executed, it locks in place reassuring you that it will not slide back when connecting. Retracting the socket is as simple as depressing the slide button and pulling it back in place.

Once connected to a foreign socket, you can then simply connect your AC plug to the other end of the Amoner International Travel Power Adapter just like you would at your home location, using the same existing cable you have with you. Once powered there is a blue power light that illuminates that power is being sent through the adapter. Maximum output from the mains connection of the adapter is 660 Watts at 110 Volts or 1380 Watts at 230 Volts.

Another trick up this adapter’s sleeve is that it also packs three 2.4 Amp USB-A ports and one 3 Amp USB-C port. This array of ports allows you to charge multiple devices over USB, be it an iPhone, iPad, digital camera or laptop. Being 2.4A, you may not get a fast charge from these ports, but they will be sufficient enough to recharge up to four USB devices overnight, and they will all be good and ready the next morning.

Rest assured also knowing that your tech is protected with the double 8 Amp fuse design, which helps prevent overcurrents, high-temperature overloads and short circuit damage. Its ABS material is both solid in its build quality and it is also heat resistant. On top of all this, there is a 12-month warranty on the adapter, should it not perform for you during this period.

Having everything in one tiny package is a real bonus for the minimalist traveller who wishes to pack light. Having the extra USB ports means you can carry fewer USB adapters to charge each of your smart devices and that’s super convenient if you’re a family travelling with many devices to charge. I would have liked more power to the USB-A ports or removing one of the USB-A ports to have two USB-C ports instead. But for the price of £14.99 ($18.99) from Amazon, the saving is not only made to your wallet, but it’s also saved by the extra space made in your luggage too.
