If you’re looking for a premium triple-channel dash camera setup, the 70mai T800 sits firmly near the top of the list. Offering true 4K recording on both its front and rear cameras, plus a 1080p cabin camera, it promises full-coverage protection with excellent image quality in day and night conditions. After testing it inside my Cupra Born, installing all three cameras, and pairing it with the 70mai app, this review covers everything you need to know before buying the T800.
Unboxing and First Impressions

The T800 arrives as one of the most complete dash cam packages you’ll find. In the box you get the T800 main unit with its integrated front and interior cabin cameras, the rear 4K camera, a generous 512GB Class 3 microSD card, a mounting plate, replacement adhesive pads, two sets of front and rear electrostatic windscreen stickers, a dual USB 12V adapter, and two long cables for both power and to connect the rear camera to the main camera body. 70mai also includes a prying tool for tucking cables behind trim, which makes installation far easier.
Supporting accessories from 70mai are also available, including a CPL polarising filter, a hardwiring kit with 4G remote monitoring and a high-capacity battery pack for 24/7 parking surveillance. In my testing, the polarising filter proved particularly useful in reducing dashboard reflections and boosting contrast during daytime driving.
Hardware and Build Quality

The T800’s main camera is larger than older 70mai models (including its latest 4K A800 SE dash cam) due to its integrated interior cabin camera, but it still mounts cleanly behind the rear-view mirrors, albeit more suited for left hand drive vehicles. The front camera uses the Sony IMX678 Starvis 2 sensor for true 4K HDR capture, and the same sensor appears again in the rear 4K unit. The interior camera captures at 1080p HDR and includes four infrared LEDs for clear night-time cabin coverage.
The rear camera’s full 360-degree rotation helps achieve perfect alignment, though neither the front nor the cabin camera offers horizontal movement or tilt rotation, so careful positioning during installation is essential. A responsive LCD touchscreen with four physical buttons lets you review footage, change settings or switch feeds between all three cameras with ease.
Setup and App Experience

Once powered through the supplied dual-USB adapter or through the optional hardwire kit, setup begins directly on the touchscreen before moving to the 70mai app. The T800 creates its own Wi-Fi hotspot, allowing your phone to connect quickly and display a live preview from all three cameras. This greatly helps with alignment during installation.
The app provides full access to resolution control, HDR settings, compression choices, recording duration, storage management and more. You can individually set the quality for each camera, including a tucked away option for 4K 60fps for the front camera’s default 30fps. The app’s interface is easy to navigate, and transferring clips to your phone is fast thanks to a stable Wi-Fi 6 connection, meaning content can be transferred to a phone camera roll in seconds and not minutes.
Image Quality and Performance
Image quality is where the T800 truly shines. Daytime footage is exceptionally crisp with rich detail that easily captures road signs, vehicle plates and lane markings. The polarising filter improves colour balance and eliminates almost all windscreen reflections. Night-time clarity is equally impressive, with the Sony Starvis 2 sensors delivering clean HDR footage, however, at speed and with low light sources, both cameras start to struggle with clarity and sharpness.
The interior camera offers a wide field of view and well-balanced exposure. Its infrared mode ensures the cabin remains visible even in total darkness, making it ideal for ride-share drivers or added security.
Parking Surveillance and Optional Accessories
For drivers who want comprehensive protection, the optional 4G hardwiring kit enables remote monitoring and real-time alerts through the 70mai app. This allows you to check your car’s surroundings at any time. Pairing the T800 with the 70mai 7,500 mAh battery pack allows full parking mode functionality without relying on the car’s own battery too much.

Is the 70mai T800 Worth It?
After several days of use, the 70mai T800 proved to be one of the strongest triple-camera dash cam systems available right now. With true dual 4K recording, HDR interior footage, strong app integration and useful upgrade accessories, it’s an excellent choice for anyone wanting full vehicle protection.
Its combination of premium image quality, reliable performance makes it highly recommended for daily commuting, long-distance driving and parked security monitoring. Its major drawback is its nighttime recording at speed or with very little light, and its rather high price tag when compared to other similarly matched 4K recording camera brands.
