People of India will be able to sample Apple’s take on the in-car entertainment system, CarPlay, with the release of the AVIC-F970BT Aftermarket CarPlay System from Pioneer.
This is Pioneer’s latest system featuring Apple CarPlay. Using a large 6.5″ multi-touch display, high-quality audio and video with smart navigation built into the system via its in-built maps and support for Mirrorlink, Mixtrax, 2 USB ports and RCA pre-out are also present, there’s also wireless Bluetooth too, yet as this is Pioneer’s latest system, there is still no sign of the recent announced Wireless CarPlay compatibility.
The AVIC-F970BT will cost locals Rs 39990, which is around $670 US dollars, and is India’s first available system that features Apple’s CarPlay platform. Owners of the cheaper AVH-X8690BT system will be happy to know that Pioneer is planning to push Apple CarPlay support onto it via an online download.
