The Wall Street Journal has had their hands on both Apple’s CarPlay and Google’s Android Auto platforms and bring their own impressions of both next-generation of in-car entertainment solutions.
It seems CarPlay looses out very slightly in their review, but today, it still manages to be a neck-and-neck race to the best in-car experience, with each platforms having their own pros and cons.
Their final summary image sums it up pretty well…
It is worth pointing out that both platforms were experienced in two different vehicles, not the same one, so voice, touch and speed of the interface will vary between vehicles.
The best ideal solution, if you’re looking for an aftermarket receiver, is to have a dual compatible in-car receiver with both platforms, that’s the best of both worlds.
