Apple CarPlay Coming to Mazda 2018/19 Models Plus Retro Fit For Earlier Models

Mazda broke the news this week from the New York International Auto Show, and finally announced Apple CarPlay support in their vehicles for the first time.

Since being included in Apple’s CarPlay compatible list for over three years now, this week marks Mazda’s first announcement of the inclusion of Apple’s in-car platform in their vehicles.

The 2018 Mazda6 model will be the first to feature Apple CarPlay in the United States, with support rolling out to all 2018 Mazda6 variants featuring the Touring trim and higher. Existing 2018 Mazda6 owners will have the option to add Apple CarPlay to their vehicle retroactively this Summer.

There is also some good news for existing Mazda owners craving for Apple CarPlay in their vehicle. Mazda also announced that they will be bringing a Genuine Mazda Accessory retrofit system for vehicles with Mazda Connect this fall, which means Mazdas as old as 2014 will be able to get on board the Apple CarPlay train.
