Jaguar Land Rover has finally announced that they will support Apple CarPlay in their 2019 vehicles.

As one of the very few manufactures still yet to adopted Apple’s infotainment system, Jaguar Land Rover will be including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support in their 2019 models via a $280 or higher optional upgrade, depending on which option level is fitted in the vehicle.

Existing Jaguar Land Rover owners who have InControl Touch Pro or Touch Pro Duo infotainment systems will also have the ability retro upgrade their existing Apple CarPlay compatible system via a software update.

With Apple CarPlay, iPhone owners will have easy access to a range of popular apps on their Apple CarPlay display, including Messages, Apple Maps, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, WhatsApp, SiriusXM Radio, iHeart Radio, Overcast, Pandora, Stitcher and many more. And with the release of iOS 12, owners will now be able to run Google Maps and Waze navigation apps.
