Last week Apple did a surprising move and featured a selection of recommended CarPlay apps for its in-car platform.
In its ‘Today’ section of the App Store – a daily focus on particular apps on the Apple App Store – Apple listed a basic selection of 9 Apple CarPlay Apps:
- MLB At Bat
- Overcast
- Podcasts
- NPR One
- Mixcloud
- Castro Podcasts
- Audible
- Audiobooks
- Pocket Casts
It was no surprised that Spotify, or any other CarPlay compatible music streaming apps were mentioned, however Apple didn’t even mention its own Music app, or even its Maps app, however it did mention its own Podcasts app.
Either way, it was great to see Apple give some spotlight on Apps for CarPlay. Although it was a basic list of apps that I am sure any Apple CarPlay owner has already tried.
