Smart CarPlay

European manufacturers Smart have confirmed, via their Canadian Twitter account, that they will be bringing news about their Apple CarPlay integration in their 2016 models ‘early in the new year’, and to ‘Stay tuned!’

So that pretty much confirms Smart’s stance on Apple CarPlay in their 2016 line of vehicles, then.

Smart isn’t visible on Apple’s list of CarPlay supported manufacturers, however Smart is a division of Daimler AG, who also has a division called Mercedes-Benz – Heard of them? Yeah, me too.

Mercedes-Benz is listed on Apple’s CarPlay roster, and although Mercedes-Benz was the first to announce their support for CarPlay, they have yet to roll out a vehicle with it installed, much to the frustration to owners waiting for it.

We’ll let you know more as soon as we hear any news from Smart and also Mercedes-Benz, early next year.
