Back in 2015, I had written an article on how to install a custom launch screen on our Alpine iLX-700/007 aftermarket receiver that was fitted in our old Audi TT Mk2, but now with an X902D-G7 installed in our Volkswagen Golf Mk7 GTI, it’s now time to cover this again, this time in a step-by-step video guide.
In this video, we give a step-by-step guide on how to customise the opening launch screen on an Alpine X902D-G7. This guide will also work with other Alpine aftermarket receivers that support opening screen customisation. To tell if your Alpine receiver supports this, check your manual mentions “Opening Screen Customisation”.
To customise your opening launch screen you will need:
1) A compatible Alpine receiver
2) A 1bit,8bit or 24bit RGB BMP image file
3) A formatted FAT32 USB drive
5) Image software (Photoshop, GIMP, Pixelmator etc.)
4) USB port connected to your receiver
