Yet another application from Amazon that offers Apple CarPlay support has released on the App Store. I’ve added some music files to the Documents folder in the app and these do display on the Now Playing screen, but navigation of these files on the CarPlay display is not possible, as it just displays an empty screen, forcing you to navigate and load them from the iPhone’s display.
Should this app allow this ability, it could be a powerful way to play your own files on your CarPlay device, but alas, it looks like this is just another app that has slipped through Apple’s strict CarPlay review process as it offers no such feature, currently.
Amazon Cloud Drive lets you access the documents, spreadsheets, music, photos and videos that you have stored in Cloud Drive, secure cloud storage from Amazon. This free cloud storage app keeps your important documents accessible even if your device is lost or damaged. Upload your content to Cloud Drive from any computer and preview, share and enjoy it on your iPhone or iPad.
Features:
– Preview documents, spreadsheets, presentations and photos
– Play videos and music stored in your Cloud Drive
– Upload photos, videos and files from your smartphone
– Create folders and move files between them
– Search for, rename and delete files and folders
– Share your files as links and attachments though email, text message and other apps
