I’ve switched from Overcast to Downcast at least until a major audio glitch gets fixed in Overcast. So far, it seems to be working well after a couple of hiccups after first installing (it would unexpectedly drop from the now playing screen to the podcast list and, separately, the podcast list filled with duplicates) but both problems cleared up on their own. Downcast support was quick to respond and said they would look into it.

Within CarPlay, I don’t see any difference between the experience of Podcasts, Overcast, and Downcast (other than bugs) so it’s all about the way the app behaves outside of CarPlay.

I have an Alpine ILX-007. Are all CarPlay units equal from a software perspective or can a particular model have different bugs?
